I use the clippings and blog facility on Bloglines to manage my work-load.

You can create multiple clippings folders – for example, I have a folder for online stuff I aim to catalogue; articles we’ll request from the author and for various lists I compile.

You automatically get one clip-blog with your Bloglines account. I use mine as a virtual beside table, using it to save all the stuff I aim to read.

These techniques mean I can read through my feeds quickly, allocating items in which I’m interested to the correct folder to be worked on later.

This screencast shows this in action, including creating a new clippings folder.
